Jose A.C. "Corky" Chavez, 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009. He is survived by his brother Laurence Chavez and wife Epi and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Frances Chavez, and two brothers and five sisters. Mr. Chavez worked for many years at Sandia National Labs. He was a member of San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Along with his brother, Laurence, Corky was a member of St. Jude Express. A rosary will be recited, Tuesday 7:00 p.m. at French, Lomas Chapel. Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter NE. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the charity of their choice.
