Helen E. (Betty) Ross, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2009. She is survived by her son, Lonnie and wife, Kathleen of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Mike and wife, Evelyn, Sherri and husband, Ed, Julie and husband, Dave, and Debbie and husband, Robbie; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Ross. Betty was born and raised in Ironton, Ohio. She moved to Albuquerque in 1945 and worked for ACF Industries as a secretary from 1955 until 1967 when the plant closed. From 1967 to 1991, she worked as a secretary and then became a programmer for the military at Kirtland Air Force Base, retiring at the age of 67. Betty was an active member of the Solo Club where she loved to dance. She enjoyed fashion, card games, but her greatest love was being with her family and attending all their activities. Betty attended Calvary of Albuquerque Church and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at French - University Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
