Susie M. Velasquez, 91, passed Thursday, August 6, 2009. She was born on January 28, 1918 in Salida, CO. Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Velasquez. She is survived by her children, Martha Powers, Priscilla Montoya and husband, Carlos; Olga Joyce, Albert Velasquez and wife, Maria; Lorraine Romero; Gloria Mirabal and husband, Tom, and Marie Kenny and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Susan Russo, Karen Powers, Michael Montoya, Angela Bricmont, Anita Fink, Carlos Montoya, Rob Joyce, Kathy Guzman, Michelle Sweet, Nicole LaFevre, James Romero, Mario Romero, Tony Martinez, Nanette Danielsson, Gary Sanchez, Pamela White, Thane Kenny, Tara Ravishankar, and Forrest Kenny; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Victor Suazo of Albuquerque, and Ed Suazo of Antonito, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith Blvd. NE.
