In addition, he was honored with the National Jewish Hospital and Asthma Center's prestigious National Humanitarian Award. Ed enjoyed all sports. He participated in football, baseball, basketball, swimming and gymnastics in high school and was an avid supporter of the University of New Mexico sports teams. He was a very good golfer, but his true passion was skiing and he continued to do both until he was 93! He is survived by his two sons, Dr. Jim Jory (Marcia) and Hoot Jory (Melissa) and has seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise and son Edward L. Jory Jr. A gathering and celebration of Ed's life was in Colorado Springs on July 18, 2009. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Ed and Louise's journey together during her difficult struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
