Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Monday July 27, 2009

Henry John Claycamp, Jr., PhD, of Stanley, NM, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009. His wife, Susan, and his children, Eric, Gregg, Jan, and Jill were at his side. Funeral arrangements are with Berardinelli Family Funeral Services, Santa Fe, NM, Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Henry was born March 12, 1931, to Henry John and Jennie (Armbruster) Claycamp of Ogallah, KS. Henry was a handsome, active, athletic and enterprising young man growing up in WaKeeney, KS. He married Joanne Hillman in 1950 and raised four children during over four-decades of marriage. He was remarried in 1995 to Susan Anne Wiggins, of Atlanta, GA. Joanne and the children enjoyed following Henry's academic career growth and eventual business leadership careers from coast to coast in the US and a year in IMEDE school of business in Lausanne, Switzerland. After completing a doctorate in economics in 1961, Henry served on the faculties of MIT, Stanford, and Perdue schools of business. He eventually moved to corporate business leadership, first in advertising in Philadelphia and subsequently as Vice President of Corporate Planning for International Harvester (IH) Corp. In transition to a private consulting career, Henry left IH in 1988 and taught at the School of Business at Perdue University, where he won teaching awards, and later on the board of directors for the agricultural farm equipment company, AGCO. Henry was a consummate "do-it-yourselfer" who loved working with both wood sculpture and furniture, and enjoyed sharing his love for crafts and "projects" with his family and others visiting the ranch. Most recently Henry and Susan settled in Stanley, NM, where they raised and showed horses from Vista Butte Ranch. Henry and Susan enjoyed sharing their hospitality and gorgeous views from the ranch with family and friends from far reaching places. Henry is survived by his wife, Susan Anne (Wiggins) Claycamp, stepchildren, Kristin Martin and Jennifer Crane and his children from his marriage to Joanne, Eric, Gregg, Jan Neuliep and Jill Watring, and his siblings, Marie Zink, Vernon Claycamp, Caroll Claycamp, and Dorothy Eisenbarth. Henry enjoyed showing the ranches and California beaches with his eleven grandchildren. He loved playing golf in California with Susan. Henry will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family. Funeral arrangements are with Berardinelli Family Funeral Services, Santa Fe, NM, Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 11:00. Henry requested that his ashes be spread on Henry's and Susan's Vista Butte Ranch. Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service 1399 Luisa Street Santa Fe, NM 87505 (505) 984-8600
