Leo Joe Lucero, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009. Leo was born February 28, 1924 the son of Jake and Antonia Muniz Lucero in Logan, New Mexico. He had worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company before he retired. Leo is survived by his wife, Maria Lucero of Rio Rancho; children, Mark Lucero of Medford, OR, Tim Lucero of Lakewood, CA, Susan Harvey of Jacksonville, OR, Leah Balley of Long Beach, CA, Anita Hulstrom of Jacksonville, OR, and Angie Grajeda of North Walk, CA; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Maria Alicia Thomas of Aurora, CO; and one brother, Patricio Meek of Round Lake, IL. The Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho.
