Sophie Ann McFeeters, 90, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 32 years, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009. Sophie was born February 12, 1919 the daughter of John and Theresa Grammas George in Manhattan, New York. She is survived by one son, Denis McFeeters and wife Judy; daughter, Sandra T. Barela and husband Paul; seven grandchildren, Derek L. Gladstone, Theresa M. Gladstone, David McFeeters, Danielle McFeeters, Danika N. Thomas and husband David, Dominic J. Barela, and Samantha R. Barela; and ten great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her five cats and four dogs. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will be in Vista Verde Memorial Park.
