Obituary for TAFOYA

Pete Tafoya, Jr., age 76, a lifelong resident of Los Lunas, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at his home. Pete loved the outdoors, especially hunting wild game with his boys. He enjoyed farming his own garden. Pete proudly served as a 1st Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Evangelista Tafoya; brothers, Jesus and Jose Tafoya; sisters, Mercy Ellis and Erlinda Griego and his son, Richard Tafoya. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carmen; children, Theresa Romero and husband, George, Charles Tafoya and wife, Yvonne, Peter Tafoya, Julian Tafoya and wife, Joann, Gloria Tafoya and friend, Sanje and Josephine Archuleta and husband, Louie; brothers, Johnny and Martin Tafoya and sisters, Angie Jones and Adela Beck. Pete was also blessed with 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Pete's life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 5:00 p.m., at God's Church on the Move, 19768-A, Belen, NM 87002. Interment will be private.
