Obituary for JOHNSON

John "Johnny" Andrew Johnson, Jr., a native of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, June 13, 2009. He is survived by his loving parents, John Andrew, Sr. and Marion Anding Johnson; brother, Harold Anding Johnson; cousins, Vernon Pleasant and wife, Sally, Virginia LaCharite and husband, Raymond, Jeannie Chunn and husband, Bob, and Cyrus C. Johnson III and wife, Kathy; best friend, Jim Davis; and a multitude of caregivers, therapists, aides and friends who so lovingly and graciously touched his life and who in turn were blessed to be included on his nightly and lengthy prayer list. He was preceded in death by sister, Janell Johnson; paternal grandparents, Cyrus Cleveland and Mary Pippin Johnson; maternal grandparents, Claude Ellis and Lucille Bell Anding; and aunts and uncles, Dr. Cyrus C. Johnson II and wife, Jean, Claude Ellis Anding Jr. and wife, Virginia, Harold Bell Anding, Janie Anding Pleasant and husband, Sessions, Nell Anding Pickett and husband, Haley Aubrey. He enjoyed many years of being a part of First Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Johnny so much appreciated his adult day care center, Share Your Care, and looked forward to attending X-Factor Church. A victor over cerebral palsy, he was able to walk with the aid of braces and crutches until confined after a stroke to a wheelchair at the age of twelve, but walks and even soars today on the streets of gold in his Heavenly Father's house. Having savored gospel music in this world, today he delights at the heavenly chorus. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. N.E.
