Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday June 12, 2009

Wilbur Henry Klattenhoff, devoted pastor, husband, father, and grandfather was called home to Heaven to be with Christ his Savior and reunited with his beloved wife on June 9, 2009. He was 90 years old. He is survived by five loving daughters and their husbands, Carol and Jeff Mullen, Susan and Glenn Weber, Linda and Dave Parmeter; Nancy and John Lacher; and Kathy and Ed DeLucas. He also had five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The grandchildren include Megan Mullen; Michele and Carrie (Busch) Weber; Matthew and Leslie (Newberry) Parmeter. Great grand children are Mayson and Hunter Parmeter. He is survived by one sister, Eunice Knuth, of Herington, KS. He was affectionately called Pastor "K" by his congregation at Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, which he was called to establish in 1959. Pastor Klattenhoff was ordained by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 1944. For 40 years until he retired in 1984, he served two families, the members of his congregations and his family at home. He was very proud of both families, providing guidance, discipline, support and love to his congregations and his loved ones. He was much more than a minister and father, he was a counselor, role model, and motivator possessing the leadership of Moses, the strength of David and the wisdom of Solomon, coupled with the dedication and determination of Peter. He loved his parishioners and his family. He very much loved his wife and soul mate, Alma. He loved golf and his German Shepherd, Magnum. He will be greatly missed. Visitation is scheduled to be at French's Mortuary, at 10500 Lomas on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church 7001 Candelaria NE on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Glenn Weber and Pastor Neal Groeling officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ Lutheran Church and School at 7701 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Graveside Services will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Please visit our online guestbook for Pastor "K" at RememberTheirStory.com French 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
