Jane Patricia Dancer Pitkin passed peacefully May 19, 2009, in her home in Albuquerque NM. Born May 30, 1921 in Lamoni, Iowa, she was the daughter of David Anderson Dancer & Florence Messerli; she was the eldest of three sisters. Jane's life was full and long, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to swim in Barton Springs everyday, spend time with family and friends, travel, play bridge, attend church, and much more. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters; her husband Arthur Pitkin; and her eldest daughter Patricia Cobb. Jane is survived by her two children, David and Coral; grandchildren, Scott (Karin), Liz, Jasmine (Donald), Teresa (Everett), Hannah and Eric; great-grandchildren, McCall, Mason, Trenton, Savannah, Grace, Augustin, and Alejandro, all of whom she took great joy. Jane was blessed with many friends and loved ones she came to think of as family and she was grateful for their love and presence in her life. We will all miss her. Jane was cremated May 22, 2009 at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE. A Memorial will be held at Jane's home, 9817 Lona Ln. NE, June 6, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Ambercare Hospice, 2129 Osuna Rd NE, ABQ NM 87113, and St. David's Episcopal Church, 304 7th St. Austin, TX 78701.
