Emily Mary Pena, 53, returned home to her place with God on Tuesday, May 19, 2009. She was born November 3, 1953 to her loving parents, Emilio Cordova and Lucy Esquibel, who preceded her in death and lovingly awaited her return. Emily was a collector of elephants and loved her many pets dearly. But more, she collected memories of life and love, and she will be missed. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Frank Pena, and awaits for their joyful reunion. Emily is survived by her twin sons, Ernest and Emiliano Romero; her step-children, Christena and Frank Pena; three grandchildren; her sisters, Alice, Cathy, and Donna; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. In the end we only part to meet again, and while it may only take a minute to say hello, it will take an eternity to say goodbye. WE LOVE YOU EMILY. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave. NW, 4th and Mildred NW, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
