Muriel Dudek, 91, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past five years, and prior to that, a resident of Roswell for 24 years, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009. Muriel was born March 24, 1918, to Arthur W. Tomlinson and Nellie Fowler. Muriel attended school in Tama, Iowa where she graduated in 1935. She enjoyed sewing, reading, knitting, being outdoors doing gardening and working with her flowers. She was active in the Methodist Church. Muriel was greatly loved by all her friends and relatives. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Nellie; her husband of 44 years Ernest Dudek; son Duane Irons; and grandson Jamie. Muriel is survived by her children, Elvin Irons of Des Moines, IA, and Kathryn Hallquist-Goodwin and husband Dennis of Rio Rancho; seven grandchildren, Tim, Eric, Amy, Angela, Elizabeth, Nathan, and Zachary; eleven great- grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Patsy Irons of Cedar Rapids, IA. Memorial Service will be held for Muriel on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church at 1004 24th Street in Rio Rancho with Pastor Trudy Morphew officiating.
