Obituary for MOYA

Epifanio Moya was born February 25, 1921 in Chilili, New Mexico. He passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 in Albuquerque. Epifanio honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII. Epifanio was preceded in death by his wife, Leoncita Moya; three sons, Elfego "Pido", Abie and Mike and by his daughter, Berna. He is survived by his loving family: three sons, Frank, Tommy, Augustine and wife Margaret; two daughters, Annie Benavidez and husband Raymond, Jennie Vialpando and husband Toby; two sisters, Genevieve Rudulfo and Flora Gurule;14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; special nephew, Leonardo "Boy" Chavez; and numerous other family members and longtime friends, too many to count, who loved and will miss him. A Rosary will be recited at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW., in Albuquerque, on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 7:00 pm. A Communion Service will be celebrated at San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Chilili, NM, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Morada de Chilili Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Anthony Rael, Steven Rael, Richard Moya, Michael Moya, Manuel Moya and Patrick Moya. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Moya, Vincent Saavedra, Raymond Benavidez and Toby Vialpando. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008
