Obituary for LUCERO

Willie A. Lucero, 88 years of age, passed away Friday April 24, 2009. Mr. Lucero was born and raised in Alameda, NM by his parents, Aurelia and Miguel Lucero. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served overseas during WWII. He earned a purple heart and other medals while serving overseas. After being honorably discharged, he went to work for Sandia Base as a fireman and retired after 29 years of service. Mr. Lucero is preceded in death by his brothers, Regulo, Reynaldo, Ernesto Lucero; and his sister, Ruth Leal. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Marin, Irene Briede; sons, Albert and Ben; sisters, Margaret Garcia, Annabel Brown, Reyna Brown; brothers Junior and Manuel Lucero; and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. A Rosary will be recited in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. US Army Honors and Burial Ceremony will take place Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
