Obituary for CABRERA

Felix Cabrera, 87, born in George West, Texas and long time resident of Albuquerque, NM, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 23, 2009. He was preceded in death by his brother Neche Cabrera; and his grandson Billy Montoya. He is survived by his son John Felix Cabrera and wife Lila May, and daughter Cathy Montoya and husband Willie; two grandchildren Celina Cabrera and Christopher Montoya; one great-grandchild Cheyenne Montoya; one soon to arrive great-great-grandchild; Mystique; brother and sisters, Guadalupe Verestigi, Stella Perez and husband Trino, Maria Deleon, Ofelia Martinez and husband Max, Enrique Cabrera, and Carolina Nerios. Felix served his Country proudly in the United States Army during WWII, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a lifetime member of the Conservatory Corp., CC Chapter 141, a lifetime member of the Painters Local Union 823, and a runner for a great part of his life, having participated in the first Los Angeles Marathon and many other races. Felix always won in his age group and ran well into his 60's. He retired from APS. During his lifetime Felix never lost his fantastic sense of humor. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, also at Garcia Mortuary.
