Obituary for TINSMITH

Catherine "Kay" Robin Tinsmith, age 94, born in North Wales, PA to the late Henri and Mary O'Neill Robin and a longtime resident of Peralta, NM, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009. She worked for Sandia Corporation as a computer operator, retiring in 1976. After retirement, she devoted many hours of volunteer work at RCI Enterprise of Albuquerque for the benefit of mentally challenged people, while volunteering she wrote Mrs. T's Cookbook. She taught reading in a literacy program and helped with the Brother Mathias Benefit and the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Catherine loved traveling, horseback riding, and arts and crafts. In later years, she learned woodcarving at the Highland Senior Center and exhibited at the New Mexico State Fair. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her five brothers; one sister and husband, Herbert Tinsmith; and son-in-law, Richard Bader. Catherine is survived by her brother, Benjamin Robin of Los Lunas, NM; daughter, Carolyn Bader of Peralta; son, James Tinsmith and wife, Kathy of Sellersville, PA; four grandchildren, Jeff Bader and wife, Donna of Albuquerque, Barry Bader and wife, Lori Anne of Phoenix, AZ, Kimberly Lockett and husband, Jeff of PA, Dana Gigler and husband, Jim of PA; and six great-grandchildren, Chelsea Bader, Tess Bader, Richard Craig Bader, Graham Lockett, Erin Lockett and Jack Gigler.
