Merietta M. Madsen of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away April 9, 2009 at the age of 84. She was born January 7, 1925 to Floyd and Helen Southard, (stepfather, Bernard Johansen). Merrietta and her family moved to Brush, CO at an early age where she attended school and graduated high school. She was married to William G. Madsen. They were married 56 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 2003. She had one son, Gary Madsen of Amarillo, TX; two granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren. Merrietta requested there be no services. Cremation took place April 10, 2009 at Daniels Family Funeral Services. Interment will be in Brush, CO. She will rest beside her beloved husband, William "Bill" Madsen. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
