Obituary for FRANKLIN

Douglas Richard Franklin (B April 23, 1953) lost his courageous 5-yr. battle against cancer on April 14, 2009. He grew up in Albuquerque, NM, attending Del Norte HS and UNM. Douglas obtained his PhD at USU in Logan, Utah, and then taught at colleges in Nevada and Wyoming. His past 21 years were spent as an associate professor teaching agricultural economics at SDSC in Brookings, South Dakota, enriching the lives of students and friends with his humor and kindness. He is survived by his wife, Kay; children, Rachel, Matthew, and Sarah; mother, Mary Elena; sister, Maureen Rizzoli; brothers, Ronald, Mark, James, and Lawrence Franklin; and many other relatives. He was predeceased by his brother Timothy. Douglas will be dearly missed by all.
