Obituary for MCCLELLAND

Ellen Nichols McClelland, age 83 of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 with her family by her side. She was born on July 8, 1925 in Vallejo, CA to Philip Gardner Nichols and Alice Lucette Woodman. Ellen married Robert Alexander McClelland III on September 12, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a charter member of St. Peter's Anglican Catholic Church in Albuquerque, where she served on the Altar Guild for over 25 years, also serving on the Vestry. Ellen volunteered at Anna Kaseman Hospital for 20 years. She was involved as a member with the German Shepherd Dog Club for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, camping and knitting. Ellen is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Robert Alexander McClelland III of Albuquerque; her children, Ann M. Jost and husband, Robert, of Farmington, NM, Alice M. Roche and husband, Steve of Albuquerque, Robert A. McClelland Jr. and wife, Laura, of Frankfort, IN, Philip G. McClelland and wife, Janice, of Caballo, NM, and Scot P. McClelland and wife, Gerri Duran, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael Jost, Heather Armes, Jennifer Jost, Steven Roche, Melissa Roche , Amy Waggoner, Robert McClelland, Dr. Maggie Lasley, Nikki Dictson, Kelli McClelland, Mac McClelland, Scot McClelland, Carmen McClelland and Magdelena McClelland; great-grandchildren, Brett, Emily and Lucas Waggoner, Kylie and Logan Dictson and Rylie McClelland; sister, Ann Gardner Mayles and her husband, John Denys Mayles of Homosassa, FL; step-sister, Barbara A. Bluck of Forest, VA; step-brother, Robert P. Wadell and wife, Angela, of San Mateo, CA; one niece and three nephews, Lynn Patterson, Brian, Kevin and Andrew Mayles. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Ruth H. Nichols; and her son, Robert A. McClelland IV. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter's Anglican Catholic Church, 8100 Eubank NE, 87122. Interment will take place on Monday, April 6, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Anglican Catholic Church.
