Obituary for ANDERSEN

Paul W. "Bill" Andersen, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 42 years, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eleanor P. Andersen; children, Christian Andersen and wife, Cecilia, Donald R. and wife, Denise all of Albuquerque, and Gail Henkle and husband, Terry of Centennial, CO; seven grandchildren, Ryan Andersen and fiancee Lauren Cavanaugh, Matt Andersen and wife, Kerri, Katie Andersen, Ian and Erik Andersen, Michael Henkle and Scott Henkle and wife, Samantha; one great-granddaughter, Acacia Henkle; and other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Oda Andersen; and his great-grandson, Aidan Wesley Henkle. He was born on February 20, 1930 in San Antonio, TX and graduated from Edison High School. After high school, he entered the United States Navy where he proudly served as a crew member on TBM Avengers with VS-32. In 1955 he went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an air-traffic controller, retiring in 1974. Bill loved motorcycles and was a founder of the New Mexico Trials Association. He was an endowment member of the NRA. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church, 1750 Faith Court NE (Chelwood & Indian School) Interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 2:30 p.m..
