Obituary for PERRET

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday March 27, 2009

William E. "Bill", 70, passed away Tuesday. Bill is survived by his wife Talma "Bunny." Bill leaves his son Jacob, wife Jennifer, and granddaughter Stacey Niver. Bill's daughter Rachel and her companion Bob Veracka also survive. Bill also leaves a brother, Robert F. D. Perret and his children, Christopher, William, and Jennifer and their families. Born in Shreveport, LA to William and Elizabeth Perret, who preceded him in death, Bill came to New Mexico in 1951 and moved to Rio Rancho in 1984. Bill earned a BA from UNM and an MBA from Anderson School. Learning was his life-long mission. He studied astronomy, astrophysics, computer science, Spanish, French and Arabic. He was an avid reader of pulp fiction westerns and mysteries and loved classical music. Bill worked diligently as a newspaper carrier so he could read two or three papers a day. His knowledge of politics and currents affairs was vast and current up until about a week before his passing. Bill also worked as a teacher and a tax preparer. He will be most sorely missed for his understanding of human nature, his forgiveness, and his sense of humor. Cremation has taken place.
