Obituary for YONKER

Joshua Yonker Sr. "Daddy", 72, passed away as the sun rose on Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Daddy was born May 5, 1936 in Hancock, Maryland to John Thomas Yonker and Elsie Smith. He entered the USAF in 1955 and retired in 1984 from Kirtland AFB. He retired from Ross Aviation as a security guard. He married Mary Clark and to that union was born their three children. He is survived by his children Vikki Wilson and her husband Will, Joshua Yonker, Jr. and his wife Diana and Aaron Yonker and Shelia Lane; grandchildren, Tanisha Yonker, Curtis Allen, Jr., Cherelle Manley, Ashley and Asa Webb, Shaqui Lane, DeAmber Yonker, Jamaica and Jaiden Yonker, Seantay and Jontay Lane and nine other grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren Jamaari Waddles and Shykhia, Jermaine and Joshuan Manley; his brother, John Yonker; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his great-granddaughter Amani Allen. Daddy showed his love to his family and friends by doing their grocery shopping. Services will be held Friday, March 27, 2009, 11:30 a.m. at French Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may visit Thursday, March 26, 2009, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Chapel.
