Loel Don Scaramella passed away March 17, 2009 at his home in Whitney, Texas. He was born in Abilene, Texas on August 14, 1935, lived in New Mexico for many years and returned to Texas in 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents Nat Scaramella and Gerry Hightower; daughter D'An; and son Gary. He is survived by wife of 31 years-Jean of Whitney; son Jax of Senaca, KS; several grandchildren; step-father Herschel Hightower of Hobbs, NM; aunts Bobbie Hale of Granbury, TX and Olline Schilling of Winnfield, LA; and many cousins. Don was well-known for his wonderful cooking and love of entertaining. His wife wishes to thank "Hospice of the Heart" in Whitney, TX for their compassionate care during his illness, and requests that any memorial donations be made to them.
