Obituary for PELLERIN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday March 15, 2009

Yoko Pellerin, 78, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family March 5, 2009. She is survived by her children, Joanne Robert of Asheville, NC, Ann Pellerin of Albuq., NM, Ernest Pellerin and wife Jackie of Los Lunas, NM, Paul Pellerin of Albuq., NM, and Jeannie Pacheco and husband Carl, also of Albuq., NM Yoko was born in Hokaido, Japan and has two brothers and a sister surviving her. She also boasts of ten grandchildren (one deceased), and 11 great-grandchildren. She met and married a soldier, Jean Pellerin, who was stationed in Japan in 1951. Coming to America, she gained her citizenship in 1956. She loved our country and learned to speak, read, and write English, and was proud to exercise her right to vote. Yoko cherished her children, sacrificing more than she needed to provide for them. For that, we are eternally thankful. She retired from the banking industry, then pursued her love of painting. Being very gifted, her children proudly display her artwork in their homes. Being the private person that she was, it was at her request to have no services. The family would like to thank all who sent their loving thoughts prayers, and support. There were so many, and at this time, were needed and so appreciated. God blessed us with the best mother anyone could ever ask for and she will be greatly missed.
