Edward Charles Morgan, 88, passed away on Thurday, March 12, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on October 8, 1920 near Cohagen, MT to Edward J. and Ludmila Morgan. He grew up on the ranch and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Waverly, MN. In 1944 her married Hazel Bryson and they have lived in Socorro, NM since 1967. After more than 30 years as a Soil Conservationist, he served the community in many ways as a volunteer including directing the church choir and counting the collection. He also served on the Socorro Electric Cooperative Board. Ed is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ellen Hakari; his brother, Leo; and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hazel of the family home; his children: Ken Morgan; Dwight Morgan and wife, Cheryl; Dan Morgan; Janine Aragon and husband, Telesfor; Patricia Morgan; Coleen Morgan; Marita Prandoni and husbnd, Peter; Melissa Fisher and husband, George; and Beth Forbush and husband, Kevin; his brother, Patrick Morgan and wife, Helen of California; sister, Dorothy of Montana; son-in-law, Chuck Hakari and wife, Nancy; as well as 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro with Celebration of the Funeral Mass immediatedly following. Father Andy Pavlak as Celebrant. Burial will be in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gene Romero, Robert Aerts, Ernest Gonzales, Fred Dunn, Charles Aragon and Kevin Forbush. Honorary Pallbearers are Zeke Armijo, Kalman Oravecz, Florencio Saavedra and Darrel Reasner. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donation to NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees) c/o First State Bank, PO Box Z, Socorro, NM 87801.
