Evelyn Violet Rose "Inky", passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 8, 2009. Evelyn was born on August 23, 1914 in Tanglewood, Texas, to Fred and Isabel Rose. Married to a military man, Evelyn traveled extensively and lived in such places as Greece and Japan. Her hobbies included painting, gardening, bowling and judging flower shows throughout NM. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Carugno; brothers, Conrad Rose and James Rose; sister Hancel Rose Mills; and two grandchildren, Robert "Bobby" Downs II and Patricia Sobba. She is survived by her son William Carugno and wife Joanne of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Nancy Sobba and husband Dennis Sobba of Jacksonville, AR; and Gayle Downs and husband Robert Downs of Albuquerque, NM, in addition to seven grandchildren, and13 great-grandchildren as well as many other loved ones. A memorial will be Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 2 p.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Carlisle Chapel, to celebrate her life.
