Obituary for ANDERSON

Trudy R. Anderson, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died on Friday, March 13, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. Trudy's interesting past included going AWOL from the German Army to rescue her family from the Russian Occupation. She walked with her family to the American sector, where she met and married her husband, Richard Anderson, an American soldier. For the next 22 years Trudy worked as an American Army nurse before retiring in Albuquerque. Throughout their military careers Trudy and Richard were stationed in Japan, Spain and Germany. She is survived by her stepson, Richard J. Anderson and his wife, Asta, of Hubbardson, MA; her brother, Peter Wildner of Munich, Germany; her sisters-in-law, Ilse Wildner and Lotte Wildner, both of Germany. Cremation has taken place and will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery next to her husband, Richard.
