Milton R. Handly, 81, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009. He was born March 11, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. Milt grew up in Albuquerque, NM, and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1945. He enjoyed fishing and hunting the mountains of New Mexico. He served with the US Army Quartermaster Corp. in Italy and went on to graduate from UNM courtesy of the G.I. Bill. He was a Kappa Sig, as was his father. He managed O'Malley Glass and Millwork in Albuquerque. He also served a term as Distinguished President of the Optimist Club and as Soap Box Derby Director. In 1960 he met Patricia M. Keenan of Beloit, Wisconsin and they married in 1963. He shared with her reading, bridge and fishing as favored pastimes. He left Albuquerque for El Paso in 1972 to manage Western Glass and Mirror in El Paso, Texas. In addition, he was a CSI and AGC trade association member for over 30 years. Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Roy R. Handly and Delila Grace Pyle. Those left to treasure his memories are beloved wife, Patricia; his daughters, Christina Arnold of Costa Mesa, CA, and Cecily Isenberg of Laguna Niguel, CA; sons, Craig Handly and wife, Susan of St. Helena, CA, and Brent Handly and wife, Sleta of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Janelle Akey, Vanessa Arnold, Kaylan Levy, Alissa Isenberg, Spencer Handly, and Ryan and Tyler Handly; and great-grandchildren, Tommy and Jack Akey. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 9, 2009, 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.
