Fran Diener, 59, left for her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Frances Cecilia Chavez was born to Ben and Lucy Chavez on October 24, 1949, in Santa Fe, NM. She graduated from Loretto Academy in Santa Fe in 1967. Fran was a beloved and generous mother, sister, and aunt, and a friend to many, many people. Her pride and joy were her daughters, Monica and Luz, and she will continue to be an inspiration to them always. Her legacy to them is service to others, a generous spirit, and the desire to have fun and create memories. She loved gardening, and had a real servant's heart. Fran retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 2006, and most recently worked at KTECH. She was a member of Christ Community Fellowship where she served on the Women's Ministry Team and as a children's Sunday school teacher. She had a special love for CCF, and for the children and women of CCF; she served them well and from her heart. Fran is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter Monica Gonzales and her husband, Michael; daughter Veronica Luz Piccinino and her husband, Justin; step-son Christian and his wife, Megan; step-daughter Michele; mother Lucy Chavez; sister Sylvia Tarro and her husband, Jim; sister Rosaline Wright; sister Bernice Fink and her husband, Barry; brother Bernard Chavez and his wife, Juli; brother Robert Chavez and his wife, Katherine; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service and celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009, at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio Drive, NE. Reverend Bob Brown, Pastor of Christ Community Fellowship, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Robert Chavez, Patrick Sanchez, Jim Tarro, Barry Fink, Rudy Lopez, Chris Chavez and Tim Donnelly.
