George Edgar Tucker, Jr., 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Monday, March 2, 2009. He is survived by his three sons, Michael Tucker and wife Susan of Albuquerque, Patrick Tucker and wife Yolanda of Albuquerque, and Tim Tucker and wife Alison of Elk Grove, CA; eight grandchildren, Michelle Rautis and husband Rob, Christina Taylor and husband Lewis, Anna Allred and husband Ryan, Emily Abbott and husband Mark, Matthew Tucker and wife Elisha, Christopher Tucker and wife Rachel, Tori Tucker and Ian Tucker; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Austin and Katie Taylor, John Michael and Rachel Rautis, Monica and Leah Allred, and Julie Abbott; sister, Virginia Headley and husband Don of FL; and numerous other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angela Tucker in 2006. He was born on October 3, 1929 in Grafton, West Virginia to George Edgar and Genevieve Anderson Tucker and graduated from Washington and Jefferson College with a Bachelor's Degree in Math and Physics. George proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 after which he joined Sandia National Laboratories where he retired in 1992 with 36 years of service. He and Angela were longtime members of Montgomery Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and an elder. His favorite ministry was Manzini Bible School in Swaziland, South Africa which is now African Christian College. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. location, Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Montgomery Church of Christ, 7201 Montgomery Blvd. NE Friday, March 6, 2009, 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matthew Tucker, Rob Rautis, Ryan Allred, Mark Abbott, Reilly O'Rear, and Lee O'Rear, and Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Tucker, Ian Tucker, Lewis Taylor, John Michael Rautis and Austin Taylor.
