Obituary for GOULART

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday March 05, 2009

Sandra Rae Goulart made her transition on January 7, 2009. Sandra was born in May of 1940 in California to Raymond and Pauline Goulart. Sandra is survived by all of her friends who were her family. She graduated from Berkeley High School in 1958 and went on to earn her B.A. from San Francisco State College in 1970. Sandra taught art which was her passion in this life. After moving to Albuquerque, she continued with her art work for which she was well known. This included quilting, pottery, and painting. Her other interest was her spiritual journey. She was a voracious reader on this topic and a dedicated student. Her interests included metaphysics, Zen, Kabbalah, and other esoteric studies. Sandra was also a lover of Jazz music and was a member of the Outpost. We all remember what part "Jenny" played in Sandra's life. Jenny, her cat, made her transition a week before Sandra's to guide Sandra's path. There will be a celebration of Sandra's life on March 7, 2009 at the Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living at 2801 Louisiana NE, Albuquerque, at 4:00 p.m. The celebration will consist of a Jazz concert that Sandra wanted her friends to enjoy. A social hour will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra's name can be made to the Life Bucket Foundation, 819 Parkland Circle SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
