Irving Alden Foster, 79, of Roswell passed away on February 27, 2009. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.. All friends and family are invited to visit with the family following the ceremony at the home of Cheri Melkus. Irving was born on August 27, 1929 in Oak Park, IL to James Moulton Foster and Orla Mae Rouse. Both parents preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his brother James Foster. Irving married Kathleen Pitt in Chicago, IL on June 14, 1952. They moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1957 where they until 1990. At this point, they began their travels in their RV. Irving and Kathy moved to Roswell in 2007. Irving was a salesman by trade and worked for General Electric, Gorman Appliance Company, and most recently at Lehman Appliance in Casa Grande, AZ. Irving loved to fish and also loved to work with his hands, creating beautiful stained glass works of art. He was a loving husband and companion to Kathy, wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He shared his love of fishing and camping with his three grandsons, Drew, Ryan, and Kiel. Irving is survived by his wife, Kathy at the family home in Roswell; his son, Jeffery Foster of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Vicki Sue Garrett and husband Les of Albuquerque, NM and Cheri Lynn Melkus of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Priscilla Jean Burnham of Florida; three grandsons, Andrew Dwight Kellner and his wife, Ruthi, Ryan Alexander Melkus, and Kiel Alan Melkus; two great-grandsons, Adin Dwight Kellner and Riley Dean Kellner.
