Glenn R. Banwart, of Weiser, Idaho, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Glenn was born on December 3, 1920 in West Bend, Iowa. Glenn was the oldest child of Nathan and Esther Banwart, who precede him in death. Glenn is survived by Lois, his wife of 53 years; and four children Robert of Yorkville, Illinois; Karen (Olly) Efthyvoulos of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Kathy (Tom) Veseth of Clinton, Montana, and Patricia (Mark) Curry of Weiser, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Heather, Alison, and Beth Banwart of Albuquerque, New Mexico, George and Stephen Efthyvoulos of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Meaghan and Zachary Veseth of Clinton, Montana, and Melissa and Paul Curry of Weiser, Idaho; and four great-grandchildren Brett Kidder, Kirsten Banwart, and Kaydee and Bryce Barraza of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Glenn is also survived by eight brothers and sisters Floyd (Clara) Banwart of Phoenix, Arizona; Lucille (Dwaine) Schmidt of Humbolt, Iowa, Doris and Joyce Banwart of West Bend, Iowa, Mary Jo (Kenneth) Schmidgall of Phoenix, Arizona, Lydia Jean (Donald) Payne of Pulaski, Iowa, Mabel (Peter) Weber of Peoria, Illinois, and Joel (Sonia) of Eureka, Illinois. Glenn is preceded in death by a son Stephen Glenn Banwart; and sisters Florence Banwart and Gladys (Ernest) Koehl. Funeral Services for Glenn will be held at the Thomason Funeral Home, 221 E. Court St., Weiser, Idaho 83672 at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009. Graveside Services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 North Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise, Idaho at 3 p.m., the same day.
