Obituary for BRUNER

Hilda Bruner passed away on February 23, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. Hilda was born in a log cabin in Pickens County, AL to Elvin & Ada Clemmons on August 18, 1934. As the wife of an Air Force officer and later on her own, Hilda traveled extensively, visiting 49 of the 50 states in the country. She had countless life long friends, was active in community service, and was a loving caregiver. She is survived by her children Rick Bruner and wife Lujuana of Prattville, AL, Ken Bruner and wife Karen of Kapolei, HI, and Becky Halvorsen and husband Gary of Albuquerque, NM; eight Grandchildren Stephan Halvorsen, Stephanie Fielder, Theran Harlan, Kristina Bruner, Stacia Bruner, Nicole Bruner, Nathan Bruner, and Wynne Bruner; and one greatgrandson Hayden Fielder. She is also survived by two sisters Gladys McGahey of Tuscaloosa, AL and Mavis Durden of Columbus, MS; as well as an aunt, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL on March 7, 2009.
