Maggie Casaus Eye, 86, a long time Fort Sumner, NM resident died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM following an illness. Maggie was born September 10, 1922 in Yeso, NM to the home of Faustin Casaus and the former Maria Veneranda Archuleta. She was reared and attended school at Yeso. Maggie worked for many years as a waitress in Clovis and Fort Sumner. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony Parish in Fort Sumner. She loved spending time and visiting with her many friends and family members. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother Jesse Casaus and two sisters Mela Casaus and Leonorcita Sena. She is survived by a sister Emily Grzelachowski of Rio Rancho, NM and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the funeral home. Rosary Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Ray Casaus, Faustin Sena, Tony Lucero, Gary Pena, Jolene Estrella and Tony Grzelachowski. Honorary bearers will be all her friends and family.
