Mildred L. Karver, age 88 of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Mrs. Karver was born on October 13, 1920 in Hobart, OK to Daniel and Lennie Clower. She married William N. Karver in June of 1944 in Big Spring, TX, he preceded her in death after 26 years of marriage on October 5, 1970. Mrs. Karver along with her husband, William, owned and operated Karver's Cocktail Lounge and The Beef and Bourbon Steak House in Albuquerque, as well as several package stores. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Karver worked for Sandia National Labs. Mrs. Karver is survived by her children, Patricia J. Crowell and her husband, Max of Tucson, AZ, Toni Karver and her husband, Charles Banks of Albuquerque, William N. Karver and his wife, Cynthia of Weston, FL; grandchildren, Michelle, John, David, Kathy, Crystal and Christine; ten great-grandchildren, including Kayla Ratcliff; and her brother, Virgil Clower of California. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Robertson; and her brother, Emmit Clower. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr. NE.
