Fela G. Lucero passed away on February 9, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family she so loved. She was born in Socorro, New Mexico to Ofelia B. and J.O. Gallegos. Fela attended schools in Socorro, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque. She married Frank Lucero in 1951. Fela lived in New Mexico all her life. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lucero Wilson (DeeDee); her sons Frank Edward Lucero, and Gregory Joseph Lucero. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Gary N. Wilson and her daughter-in-law, Shari R. Lucero. She was the beloved grandmother of Christopher G. Wilson (Jennifer), Melissa Felia Romero (A.J.), Mark E. Lucero (Desiree), and Kimberly M. Lucero (John). She had five great-grandchildren, Collin Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Ava Romero, Jalen Lucero, and Lateecya Jiron. She also leaves behind her brother, John N. Gallegos; sister-in-law Margaret W. Lucero; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Lucero, and her parents Mr. & Mrs. J.O. Gallegos. Fela was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. She was a proud life-long Democrat. She enjoyed going to the local casinos and she was a long-time Lobo sports supporter. She will be missed by her family and friends. Pallbearers will be Chris Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Melissa Romero, A.J. Romero, Mark Lucero, Desiree Lucero, Kimberly Lucero, John Badjar, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Chavez and Steven Geis. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., at French, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009, at 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation, 2621 Vermont @ Claremont. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
