Ezekiel J. Gutierrez Jr., passed away peacefully on January 25, 2009 in Scottsdale, AZ. Zeke was born in Albuquerque to Aurelia and Ezekiel J. Gutierrez Sr. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WW II, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio Engineering and was employed by Honeywell for over 35 years. Zeke was an avid golfer, photographer, genealogist and free-lance writer. He is survived by his children, Suzanna Colby, Elena Burkhalter and Ezekiel J. Gutierrez III; grandchildren, Brent, Brian, Johnathan; and great-granddaughter Carly; sisters, Frances Zimmerly, Theresa Bump, Rosalie Yost and brother Frank Gutierrez all of Albuquerque; sister Mary Jo Gutierrez of Indianapolis, IN. Zeke was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara and his parents, Aurelia and Ezekiel Gutierrez Sr. Private Graveside Services with military honors will be held at National Cemetery of Arizona.
