Patty G. Armijo, born in Peralta, NM, in 1930, passed away Friday, February 6, 2009. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul; parents, Pedro and Pauline Gurule; mother and father-in-law, Rafael and Martina Armijo; brother, Ismael (Sal) Gurule; and several sisters and brothers-in-law. Patty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ben; children, Belinda Paris, Judy D. Armijo, Dan and Jennifer, Tom and Megan, Marty and Christy, Patrick and Tamara; daughter-in-law, Darlene Armijo; grandchildren, Jodie Chavious, Sam Paris, Alexandra Armijo Barnes, Destiney, Dana, Haleigh, Tara, Noah, Zachary, Ariana, and Aidan Armijo; brother, Johnny Gurule and wife, Judy; sisters, Lucy Tubbs and Cecile Gomez; sisters-in-law, Emma Gurule and Susie Rodriguez; brother-in-law, Benny Armijo; and several nieces and nephews. Patty served as Valencia County Clerk. She and her husband owned Sterling Title Company in Los Lunas. Patty, affectionately known as Patty G. even to her children, enjoyed her family and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She loved to shop, bake, garden, travel, and attend her grandchildren's soccer and baseball games. She also enjoyed dining out with her husband and friends and winning at the casinos. As a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Altar Society, she attended Mass daily. Patty and Ben were involved in several marriage enrichment weekends from Socorro to Pecos Valley. All Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Peralta, NM beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dan Armijo, Tom Armijo, Jodie Chavious, Alexandra Armijo Barnes, Patrick Armijo, Marty Armijo, Sam Paris, and Peter Gurule. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
