Marc Brian Hays, 53, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, passed away, Monday, February 2, 2009, in his home of natural causes. He was born August 20, 1955 in Clovis, NM at Clovis Memorial Hospital to mother, Kay Diane Curry Burns and father, John Hays, both of Clovis, NM. Marc grew up in Clovis and attended Clovis Public Schools. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1973 and then attended Eastern New Mexico University in 1973-74. Marc entered the United States Navy in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1978. He served as a Naval Surgical Tech. Marc came to Albuquerque and attended the University of New Mexico and the University of Albuquerque, graduating with a Nursing Degree. He became a Surgical Nurse working many years for Albuquerque Hospitals. At the time of death, Marc was employed by the Veteran's Administration Hospital. He is survived by his two daughters, Kelsey Diane Hays and Haley Elizabeth Hays, students at NMSU, Las Cruces; and one son, Tyler Brian Hays, a student at CNM, Albuquerque; mother, Kay Diane Curry Burns of Clovis; father, John and Sandy Hays of Clovis; uncles and aunts, Roy Brian Curry of Albuquerque, William S. and Rossanna H. Hays of Albuquerque; stepbrother, Dr. Rodney Burns Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Lafayette, LA; and cousins, Gregory R. Hays of San Mateo, CA and Devon Elizabeth Hays of Albuquerque. Marc was preceded in death by his sister Dinah Leigh Hays. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel.
