Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday February 01, 2009

Sharon deKeyser Davidson Sharon passed away peacefully in Albuquerque on her 98th birthday, completing the full circle of a life well lived. Born in Amsterdam, Holland on January 24, 1911, she and her family emigrated to California in 1923. Sharon attended schools in Los Angeles and married her first husband, John deKeyser, there. He established a prestigious music store in which Sharon also worked for a number of years. After her husband died, she moved to Albuquerque to be with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson, as family was of great importance to her. She later married DeWitt Davidson, an accomplished travel writer, with whom she travelled extensively and enjoyed seeing the world together. He passed away in 2008. Sharon was self-sacrificing, very caring, fearless, tenacious and a positive thinker who sought to do good wherever she could. She was masterful at crossword puzzles, knowledgeable about classical music, a capable organist and pianist, as well as talented in graphic arts. She especially loved the music of Bach and twentieth-century composers. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Joanna deKeyser; her sister, Helen Whelan; grandson, Shanti Randall; great-granddaughters, Adriana Tixier Randall and Malia Fritsch; nieces, Cathy Kurvers, Barbara Hoelsher and Karen Brunelle; nephews, Dan and Pat Whelan. She also had many friends who will not soon forget her kind heart and positive spirit. In accordance with Sharon's wishes, cremation has taken place. At some future time, there will be a private family celebration of her life.
