Amy Paul-Valdez, a former resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Olympia, WA on January ll, 2009 at the age of 47. Amy graduated from Manzano High School in 1979 and worked at EG&G at Kirtland AFB before marrying Joe Valdez of Las Vegas, NM in l983. They then moved to Austin, TX and later to their home in Olympia. She is survived by her husband, Joe; their three children, Emily, Daniel and Christian; her parents, Garland and Zita Paul; her sisters and their husbands, Chris and Drew of Brentwood, PA, Mindy and Paul of Austin, TX, and Pam and Frank, of Albuquerque; and her brothers, Dave, Danny and Jerry, all of Albuquerque. Amy confronted many painful obstacles in her short life, but never lost her unique and wonderful sense of humor, her deep compassion for others, and her child-like innocence. She will be so greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Services will be held in the Hub of the Calvary of Albuquerque at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009. A Memorial Service will also be held at the home of her parents in Belen on Sunday, February l, 2009 at 2 pm.
