Obituary for KEITH

Donald G. Keith, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Don was born Tuesday, March 27, 1928 in West Texas and was active in the family farming and ranching business. He joined the Army in 1953, then he attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado where he met and married Marianne. After graduating in 1958, they came to Albuquerque and soon became active in real estate and land development. He and Bill Thompson formed Keith & Thompson Realtors, built and operated apartment complexes in the university area which his family still operates. He enjoyed many happy years playing tennis at the Tennis Club of Albuquerque, where he served as President and long time member of the "Dawn Patrol". Donald is survived by his wife, Marianne; sons, Brian Keith and son, Redmon, Scott Keith and wife, Lori and their children, Donald, Richard, Marty, Nicole and grand-daughter, Alexis; brother Larry Keith and wife, Mary Lois of Childress, TX; sisters, LaDelle Gann and husband, Royce Don of Paducah, TX, Ruby Nell Rogers of Pleasant Hill, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve. The family wishes to thank New Mexico Cancer Center, Dr. Haskins, and the wonderful team from Vista Care Hospice. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 19, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE with a reception to follow at the Tennis Club of Albuquerque, 2901 Indian School Rd.
