Jim Summers Sr., 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Summers of Albuquerque; children Jim Summers Jr. and wife Betty of Estancia, Stephen Summers and wife Betty of Holly, MI, David Summers of Pine Island, MN, Mark Summers of Silver Thorn, CO, Mike Summers of Los Lunas, Kathy Davis and husband Jay Geraths of Tacoma, WA, Jennie Summers and husband Mike Rosenthal of Oakland, CA; grandchildren Kelly Frick and husband Brian, Jon Summers and wife Terri, Robby Summers, Chandra Summers, Christopher Summers, Alicia Summers, Rachael Summers, Stephanie Larkin and husband James, Ella Rosenthal, Rye Rosenthal; and many great-grandchildren. After retiring from 31 and a half years in the US Air Force, Jim worked at the Kirtland AFB Commissary for 32 years. A Rosary will be recited, Monday, January 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel. Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
