Obituary for SHARP

Fred Sharp, 87, a longtime resident of Valencia County, died on January 9, 2009. Mr. Sharp was born on December 14, 1921, to Fred and Hilda (Wood) Sharp of Cortez, CO. He married his high school sweetheart, Janice Bradfield, on January 19, 1942 and would have been married 67 years this year. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Sharp was a member of First Baptist Church in Bosque Farms. At one time, he had been a member of The Elks. His hobbies included woodworking. Mr. Sharp was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family and friends returned his adoration. He is preceded in death by a grandson, three sisters, and one brother. Mr. Sharp is survived by his wife, Janice M. Sharp; daughters, Sharon Ann McCray and Jule Freeman; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on January 17, 2009 at the United Methodist Church - Peralta, 25 Wesley Road, with Pastor Sid West of First Baptist Church Bosque Farms, presiding.
