Walter L. Gammon, 53, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Walt graduated from Eldorado High school in 1973. He served his country proudly in the USMC and will be buried at Santa Fe National Cemetery. He had a long career in the Aviation Industry as a machinist and was employed by DeVore Aviation Corporation at the time of his death. He is survived by Leslie Bush Bleier, the love of his life and Grant and Emily Bleier, his family and many friends. He will be remembered for his love of adventure in the outdoors, gentle giant persona, his big smile, the personal interest he took in everyone he met, his kindness and optimism. A Memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Rd, NE on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walt's memory to the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation, 4901 Lang Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
