Ricky J. Martinez, 46, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2008 following a long illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Flora Martinez; brother, Cecil Martinez; and sister-in-law, Shari Roestenberg, all of Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Claudia Gallegos Martinez; father, Cecilio Martinez; brothers, Joseph Martinez and Anthony Martinez and wife, Michelle, all of Albuquerque; nieces and nephews, Anthony, Ashley, Andrea, Matthew, Roberta, and Emiliano; a godson that he raised as a son, Joshua Kaufman; a special grand-nephew that brought joy to his life, Dominic; many aunts and uncles that loved him so; Sister Connie Martinez, FdCC, Carmel Martinez and wife, Gloria, Lorenzo Martinez and wife, Dorothy, Filomeno Martinez, Daniel Martinez, and wife, Yolanda, Lourdes Martinez, Rosalie Garcia, Leila Garcia, Sophia Baca, Eddy Baca and wife, Ramona, and Pete (Cuco) Baca; and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. A very special thank you to Ismael (Petro) Baca, Steve Baca, Frank (Speedy) Candelaria, Daniel Martinez, and Paul Romero for all of your help and love. Ricky was full of life with even more funny stories that we will laugh at and forever treasure in our hearts. A Rosary for Ricky will be recited Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. at La Morada de San Jose, 2100 La Vega Rd SW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW with Father George Officiating. Ricky will be laid to rest at Mt.
