Obituary for WHITE

Alice Catherine White, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, went to be with her Lord on December 25, 2008. She was born November 16, 1918 to Dale LaVerne and Innes Myers. Raised on a ranch near Levy, NM, she graduated from Wagon Mound High School. She worked as a Harvey Girl at the Castenada Hotel while attending Normal University (Highlands University) in Las Vegas. Married to Paul L. White for 31 years, Alice was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by sons Leslie White and wife Joan, Harold White and wife Bea; daughters Kathy Findley and husband Jim, Linda Vittitow-Pearcey and husband Jim, Sherron Dobson; sister Bernice Glenn; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; and sisters Mable VonWolff and Doris Fullingim. Alice was active in church and mission projects, serving with her husband Paul in churches in Bernalillo, Albuquerque, Edgewood and Los Alamos. She was a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. An amazing woman of strong character and faith, Alice will be loved and missed by all. A special thank you to Presbyterian Hospice Staff and especially to caregivers Arlene Gallegos and Debra Noble-Mares. Services will be Monday, December 29, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE.
