Obituary for VIGIL

Eduardo "Eddie" "Bardo" "Lalo" Vigil, 85, who was born in Socorro, NM and lived in Albuquerque (Barelas) since about 1938, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Eddie is predeceased by his parents; John and Teresa Vigil and his sister Maria Antonia Vigil He is survived by Catalina, John and David Parker, Marcella and Hardy Jackson, Ben and Cyrus Wade. His sisters; Carmel and Mary Theresa Vigil. Eddie attended Coronado Elementary and Washington Middle School thru the 8th Grade. He joined the Army in 1943, he served in Germany, France; Battle of Bulge, Bataan Death March, Ardens Forest. Worked for AMREP Corporation in Rio Rancho and retired from Eldorado in Santa Fe, Maintenance Manager. He immensely loved his two jobs; he had been working at both, San Jose Elementary as a crossing guard for many years and at the Catholic Charities as a security guard, until his recent slowdown due to his heart. He loved the staff at both places and the children and their parents. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Those who wish to send condolences may do so at: www.danielsfuneral.com Services are entrusted to: Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover SW Albuquerque, New Mexico 505-243-5222
